• Go to Settings > Contacts > Accounts and turn off Gmail to remove Google Contacts from your iPhone.
  • To remove a specific contact – go to the Lists menu in the Contacts app, select Gmail, and delete the contact from the list.
  • To prevent new contacts on your iPhone from syncing to Google, go to Settings > Contacts > Default Account and change the service.

Step 1: To remove a specific Google contact on your iPhone, open the Contacts app, and go to Lists.

Step 2: Open Gmail from the list, and this will show all the contacts synced from the account. S elect and delete the contact you want to remove.

Note that doing this will delete the contact from your Google Account . To restore it, go to Google Contacts on the web, sign in with the account, and use the Bin to restore the deleted contact.

How to Prevent New Contacts from Syncing to Google

When you add a new contact to your iPhone, it gets synced/backed up to a selected service under the Default Account. Here’s how you can change it from Gmail to iCloud or another service.
