- Open the desired chat in WhatsApp, tap on the three-dot menu > More > Export Chat to save the conversation as a text file or with media.
- Send the exported chat file to your email address for easy access on your computer.
- Open the chat file on your computer, and use the print option from the file menu or shortcut to print the conversation.
Note : When exporting chat history, WhatsApp doesn’t let you select a specific timeframe. Moreover, WhatsApp doesn’t include media in the exported file, instead, it creates a separate folder for your pictures.
Print WhatsApp Messages on Android
Exporting a WhatsApp chat is available on iPhone and Android. We will start with the Android app and move on to the iPhone version. Let’s get started.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your Android phone and select a thread you want to print.
Step 2: Tap the three vertical dots menu at the top-right corner.
Step 3: Expand More .

Step 4: Select Export chat .
Note : You can export chat without media or with media. Exporting chat with media will increase the file size. Let’s select Without media.

Step 5: WhatsApp exports a file with your messages and opens the Android share sheet to save it.
Step 6: You can upload the file to Google Drive, email someone, send it via Bluetooth to a PC or Mac, and simply save it to your preferred file manager.

We have used the Solid Explorer app on Android and saved the WhatsApp chat to the Documents folder. It’s one of the best file manager apps on Android.
After you export a WhatsApp chat, print it out using the steps below.
Step 7: Since we have saved the exported file to the Documents folder, open it in your file manager app.
Step 8: Select the .TXT file and open it with Google Docs .
Step 9: Once opened, tap the three vertical dots menu at the top-right corner and enable Print layout .

Step 10: Select Share and export and tap Print .
Step 11: Select your preferred printer from the following menu, make the necessary changes, and print your WhatsApp messages.

Print WhatsApp Messages on iPhone
You can print your WhatsApp messages from your iPhone too. Here’s how.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp and select a chat you want to print.
Step 2: Tap the contact’s name at the top.
Step 3: Scroll to Export Chat .

Step 4: Export a chat with or without media.
Step 5: WhatsApp generates a .ZIP file and opens the iOS share sheet. Tap Save to Files .

Step 6: Select a relevant folder and hit Save at the top-right corner.
Step 7: Open the Files app and select the folder in which you exported the file.
Step 8: Tap on the .ZIP file to unzip it. Open .TXT file .

Step 9: Tap Share at the bottom and select Print .

Step 10: Select your printer and hit Print at the top.

Print WhatsApp Chat From WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp web and desktop apps mirror your messages from your phone. You can’t check your entire chat history on the desktop and export it. However, if your printer is connected to your desktop, you can use a workaround to print WhatsApp messages on Windows and Mac.
When you export WhatsApp chat on your phone, email, or send the file to the desktop. You can check messages on a big screen and print them out.
With many organizations and businesses using WhatsApp, having a physical copy of your chat is important. You can also use them as a legal defense in specific situations.

Print From iPhone Using Wi-Fi
iPhones have a feature called AirPrint that allows you to print from your iPhone over Wi-Fi . However, to make this feature work, you’ll need to ensure your printer also supports Wi-Fi connectivity. Once you confirm that, here’s how to print photos using an iPhone with a Wi-Fi connection.
Step 1: Connect your printer with your Wi-Fi network.
Step 2: Open the Photos app on your iPhone.
Step 3: Open the photo or document that you wish to print and tap on Share at the bottom.
Step 4: Tap on Print . A new window with different print options will open on your screen. Tap on the Printer option at the top to see available printers.

Step 5: Select your printer from the list. After this, you will see some more printing options, such as Presets, Number of Copies, Paper Size, and Media and quality .
Step 6: After selecting your options, tap on Print .
Print From iPhone Using Hotspot
There are two ways to print from an iPhone without Wi-Fi. The first one is by creating a hotspot between your printer and iPhone. This means that there is no Wi-Fi network around you. But ensure your printer supports Wi-Fi connectivity.
Before we begin the steps, ensure your printer has a blinking LED indicator next to the Wi-Fi logo. We used an HP Printer for this article.
Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone > tap on Wi-Fi .
Step 2: Tap on your printer name from the list > enter the password to connect.
You can check for the printer password by going to the Wireless menu of your printer.
Step 3: Open the Photos app > tap on the photo or document that you wish to print > tap the Share icon .

Step 4: Scroll down and tap on Print . Choose your printer, printing options , and then tap Print .
This is how you can print from your iPhone without a Wi-Fi connection.
Print From iPhone Without Wi-Fi Using an OTG Cable
Lastly, we have a method where you can connect your iPhone and printer with a USB OTG cable. After connecting your iPhone, follow these simple steps.
Step 1: After connecting your iPhone , tap on Yes on the pop-up menu appearing on your screen.
Step 2: Open the Photos app > choose your photo > tap on Share > Print > choose your options > tap Print .
This is how you can print from an iPhone if your printer doesn’t support Wi-Fi connectivity. However, you need a USB OTG cable to connect to your iPhone.

- Before printing from Canva, you may enable Show print bleed and Show margins to ensure no important parts get cut off.

Method 1: Using Your Desktop Computer
Step 1: Visit the Canva website in a browser and sign in with your account details.
Step 2: Create a new design or open an existing one. Make necessary changes using a feature-rich Canva editor.
Step 3: Click File at the top > expand View settings > enable Show print bleed to avoid unnecessary white edges when printing.

Step 4: You can also enable margins to ensure that essential design elements aren’t cut when printed.
Step 5: Select Notes at the bottom > enter the notes you want to keep separate.
Step 6: Click the Share icon > hit Download .

Step 7: Change file type to PDF Print , which is ideal for printing. Pick any option.
- Crop marks and bleed: When downloading your design, add crop marks to mark where to cut the paper.
- Flatten PDF: This option converts your design with several layers into one and ensures that all your Canva design elements are printed.
- Includes notes: You can add notes (as shown in the fifth step) with your design and download them as PDF.

Step 8: Lastly, pick a relevant Color Profile . Canva recommends RGB for digital use and CMYK for professional printing.

After downloading your Canva design, print it with your printer using the steps below.
Step 9: Open the desktop File Explorer or Finder menu and launch the PDF file in your preferred editor.
Step 10: Press Ctrl + P (Windows) or Command + P (on Mac) to open the Print menu.
Step 11: Lastly, select your Printer > set Layout > color print > finally, click on Print .

Method 2: Using a Mobile Device
Canva uses the same interface on Android and iPhone . In the screenshots below, we will use Canva for iPhone. You can also use it on Android to print your designs.
Step 1: Download and launch Canva on your iPhone, then sign in with your account details.
Step 2: Select your existing design and make edits. Tap the Share icon at the top and tap Download , then select PDF Print , enable flatten PDF , include notes if you want, and tap Download .

Step 3: Canva generates the PDF file on your phone and opens the share sheet. Lastly, tap Print > select your printer > enable the Print in Color toggle > tweak media quality > select Print at the top right corner.

Sometimes, the printer does not show up on the iPhone . If you experience this, check our separate post to fix the problem.

Method 1: Print Contacts From iPhone Using iCloud
You can print your entire contacts list from your iPhone using your iCloud account. You first need to ensure that all your contacts are synced with iCloud. Then, follow the steps to print them. Do note that you will require your computer as well.
Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone > Profile name > iCloud > Show All > Enable Contacts for iCloud .

Step 2: On your computer, open the browser and go to iCloud account .
Step 3: Scroll down and then click the Contacts icon.

Step 4: Click the three dots at the top and then select Select All Contacts .

You can also select specific contacts from the list.
Step 5: Click the Share icon at the top-right corner and then select Print Contacts .

You can select Export vCard to export contacts from an iPhone into a PDF.

Method 2: Print Contacts From iPhone Using iTunes
To print your iPhone contacts without using iCloud, you can install iTunes . This method also helps Windows PC users who prefer using iTunes to sync their iPhone data.
Step 1: Download and install iTunes on your Windows PC using the link below. Then log in to your Apple account.
For Mac users, open Music .
Step 2: Connect your iPhone to your Mac or Windows PC using a cable.
Step 3: Click the Phone icon at the top.
Step 4: Select Info from the left menu.
Step 5: Select the option of Sync Contacts With and then select Windows Contacts .

Step 6: Click on Apply at the bottom-right corner.
You can now open your contacts in Windows Contacts and print them.
Method 3: Print Contacts from iPhone Using Google Contacts
Another way to take a print of your iPhone contacts is by using Gmail . In case you have a Gmail account, you won’t need to use iCloud or iTunes to print from contacts. Do note that this process will mix your iCloud and Gmail contacts on your iPhone. So, if that is not a problem for you, here’s how to proceed.
Step 1: Open Settings > Contacts > Accounts > Add Account .

Step 3: Follow the on-screen instructions to add your Gmail account .
Step 4: Once added, tap the toggle next to contacts to sync your iPhone contacts with your Gmail account.
Step 5: Open the web browser on your computer and go to contacts.google.com .
Step 6: Select the iPhone contacts that you want to print. Then click the three dots on the right side and select Print .

Method 4: Print Contacts From iPhone Using Preview on Mac
The last method applies only to Mac users. You can use the Preview app on your Mac to merge screenshots of your contacts into PDF files. This process can take some time as you will have to combine all the screenshots of your contacts into one image.
Step 1: Open the Contacts app on your Mac and take screenshots of all the contacts that you wish to print. Try to take screenshots of similar dimensions.
Step 2: Right-click on one screenshot and then select Get Info .

Step 3: Note the width of the image. For instance, if the dimensions are 1000×600, the width would be 1000.

Step 4: Repeat the same process to note down the width of all images .
Step 5: Open one of your screenshots in Preview on your Mac.
Step 6: Press Command + A to select the image. Then press Command + X to remove it from the Preview window.
Step 7: Click on Tools > Adjust Size .

Step 8: De-select the option of Scale Proportionately .

Step 9: Enter the combined width value of all your screenshots and click Ok .
Ensure that you have selected the right dimension before entering the values.

Step 10: Press Command + V to paste the image.
Step 11: Open another screenshot in Preview, select it, press Command + X to copy it, and press Command + V to paste it into the previous Preview window.
Step 12: Repeat this process until you have added all the screenshots in one image.
Step 13: Click on File > Save . You can now print this file from your Mac.
