- Facebook Highlights allows you to post your stories as a collection, for anyone to see. Unlike stories, it does not have a 24-hour limit.

Can You Make Highlight After The Story Disappears
Yes, highlights are created using the story archive feature , which stores the disappearing stories that have hit the 24-hour time limit of being live. The story archive is private and not visible to anyone else.
However, highlights are public. Regardless of your story’s initial privacy setting, the stories in the highlight will be visible to anyone who visits your profile.
Can You Make Highlight From Messenger Stories
Yes, both your Facebook and Messenger stories can be added to your Story Archive. So, you can add stories to your profile as highlights. However, you can only create highlights on Facebook and those highlights aren’t accessible on Messenger.
How to Create Facebook Highlights
There are a few ways to create new highlights. Let’s check them all.
Method 1. Create Highlight From Active Stories
Note : You can only create a highlight with an active story via this method, you can’t add expired stories.
After publishing a story, launch the Facebook app and tap the Your Story option under Stories. That’ll open your latest story. Tap the Highlight icon at the top-right corner.
Here, either create a new highlight or select from an existing one . When creating a new highlight type in its title , set a cover photo, and Add more if you want to add more stories to the highlight. Lastly, tap Done .

Alternatively, you can visit your Facebook profile > tap your profile photo > View story → highlight icon (top-right corner) → create the highlight and tap Done .

Method 2. Add Stories to New or Old Highlight From Archive
Note : You can add any active or old stories (that have already expired) to an old or new highlight. However, this method is limited to stories, you can’t add other photos to highlight.
Step 1: Go to your Facebook profile. Tap the three-dot icon (next to Edit Profile).
Step 2: Select Archive from the options. On the next page, tap Story Archive from the top.

Step 3 : Select the story/stories you want to add to highlight.
Step 4: Tap the Highlight . Choose an existing highlight or tap Create new highlight (add name, cover photo) and Done .

Method 3. Create Highlight From Your Profile
Note : The Highlight section will only show on your profile after you’ve created at least one highlight. You can add any available content from the camera, posted photos or tagged photos.
Go to the profile screen on the mobile apps. Scroll down to the Story Highlights section.
- To create a new Highlight tap New > select the story/stories > Next > give Title, edit cover photo > Done.

- To add to an existing highlight, select the highlight > tap the three-dot icon (top-right corner) > Edit highlight > Add more > select the story/stories > Done .

Remove Story from a Highlight
Tap and hold the highlight with the story you want to delete and select Edit Story highlight . On the next screen, uncheck the story that you want to remove and tap Done .

Alternatively, you can open the highlight , tap the three-dot icon from the top-right corner and select Edit Highlight .
Edit Highlight Title and Cover
You can assign unique names and cover images to your highlights. To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Tap and hold the highlight on your profile screen. Select the Edit Story Highlight option.
Step 2 : On the Edit Story Highlight screen, give the new name under Edit Name and tap the picture under Edit Cover to change its cover photo.

Just like Instagram, you can add cover pictures from a gallery . So choose an apt cover for your highlight.
Delete Highlights
To delete a highlight from your profile, tap and hold the highlight that you want to edit. From the options that you get, tap Delete Highlight , and then OK .

Note: Once deleted you can’t recover the highlight. However, this does not delete your stories from the archive. You can create a new highlight anytime from the archives.
Story Highlights Not Working
If you cannot create highlights, you should check if the story archive feature is enabled or not. To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1 : From your Facebook profile page , tap the three-dot icon . Select Story Archive from the top
Step 2 : Here, if the archive feature is disabled, you’ll see a notification. Toggle on the Switch next to Turn on archive .

Yes. However, you can’t add the story to multiple highlights at once. You’ll have to do so one by one.
No, at the time of writing Facebook doesn’t allow you to change the privacy settings of Highlights.
