- Enable Sound for Notifications under Snapchat app Settings > Notifications.
- Reset app preferences on Android from Settings > System > Reset options, or reset all iPhone settings from General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset.
Basic Fixes
- Disable the silent profile : Press the Volume Up physical button on your Android phone and tap the sound profile icon to disable the silent mode. Similarly, flip the physical Mute switch (or press the Action button) on your iPhone to disable its silent profile .
- Turn off DND and Focus mode : Swipe down from the screen top to open the Android Notification panel and tap the Do Not Disturb toggle to disable it. On the iPhone, swipe down from the top-right screen corner to open Control Center , and tap Focus to turn it off.
- Disconnect Bluetooth devices : Head to Settings > Bluetooth > tap the connected device to disconnect it.
- Close the Snapchat Web : If you’re using Snapchat in your browser on your PC, close it.
- Update or reinstall Snapchat : Search Snapchat in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, and tap Update (if available). Alternatively, long-tap the Snapchat icon to uninstall it and reinstall it from your respective device store.
Fix 1: Enable Sounds in Snapchat App Settings
You won’t get sound for new Snapchat notifications if you’ve unknowingly turned off Sound under its settings. Head to the Snapchat app settings to check and enable it.
Tip: You can change the default Snapchat notification sound to make it more audible.
Step 1: Open Snapchat, tap your avatar at the top left, and select the Gear icon to open Settings.
Step 2: Tap Notifications and scroll down to enable Sound .

Fix 2: Check Snapchat Notification Settings on Your Device
Besides in-app settings, missing sound permissions for the Snapchat app on your phone can result in the no-notification sound issue. Check device settings to turn it on.
On Android : Long-tap the Snapchat app icon to open App info , select Notifications , and toggle on All Snapchat notifications .

On iOS: Open the Settings app, select Notifications , tap Snapchat , and toggle on Allow Notifications .

Fix 3: Turn off Silent Notifications (Android)
When Snapchat’s Silent Notifications feature is enabled, new notifications are delivered quietly without producing a sound. Disable it from the Snapchat app settings to get sound for new notifications.
Step 1: Long-tap the Snapchat app icon , open App info , and select Notifications .

Step 2: Tap Silent Notifications and select Default to turn off silent notifications.

Fix 4: Disable Battery Saver or Low Power Mode
An active Battery Saver or Low Power Mode on your smartphone can suppress device notification sounds to save more battery juice. Disable it to restore normal functioning.
On Android: Swipe down from the top to open the Notification panel and toggle off Battery Saver . You can also do it from Settings > Battery .
On iOS: Swipe down from the top-right screen corner to open the Control Center and tap the Low Power Mode toggle to disable it. Alternatively, head to Settings > Battery to disable the Low Power Mode.

Fix 5: Reset App Preferences
Lastly, reset app preferences (Android) or reset device settings (iOS) to fix other installed apps suppressing the Snapchat notification sound.
Android
Step 1: Open the Settings app, tap System , and select Reset options .

Step 2: Tap Reset app preferences and select Reset when prompted to confirm it.

iOS
Step 1: Select General under iPhone Settings and tap Transfer or Reset iPhone .

Step 2: Tap Reset and select Reset All Settings . When prompted, enter your device passcode to confirm the action.
