• Ensure Discord has the necessary permissions to access the webcam and ensure your security software is not blocking it.
  • Run the Camera troubleshooter on Windows or reinstall the drivers if you experience similar issues in other apps.
  • You may uninstall and reinstall Discord on your PC if nothing works.

Try Basic Fixes

  • Run Discord as an administrator: Sometimes, Windows might restrict microphone and camera access for apps like Discord to protect your privacy. To avoid any issues, right-click on the Discord shortcut and select Run as administrator.
  • Close background apps: It’s possible that the Discord camera is not working because another app is already using your webcam in the background. Close apps and programs running in the background and see if that helps.
  • Turn off webcam protection in your security software: Antivirus and security programs often include webcam protection features to enhance user privacy. However, these programs can sometimes cause apps like Discord to crash when you turn on the camera. Go through the settings of your antivirus or security program and temporarily disable the webcam protection feature.
