• Ensure to check you haven’t manually zoomed in using the camera on WhatsApp
  • Updating WhatsApp or Clearing the cache can fix the Zoom issue.
  • While Whatsapp beta can fix the issue, it can also introduce other issues.

Try Basic Fixes

  • Reinstall WhatsApp after taking the chat backup.
  • Use a Phone Camera to check if the issue is because of the phone or WhatsApp.

Fix 1. Update the WhatsApp App

Bugs like these are fixed in updates and usually run in the background. However, you can manually check and update the app .

Step 1: Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone.

Step 2: Tap the profile icon at the top right > select Manage apps & devices. Press the Update button next to WhatsApp to download the latest version.

Fix 2. Join WhatsApp Beta

While limited, the Beta program receives bug fixes and new features earlier than the rest. You can try it to see if this fixes the issue.

Step 1: Open the Google Play Store and search for WhatsApp . Scroll down to locate the Beta program option.

Step 2: From the app info page, you can join or leave WhatsApp beta on your phone . Give it time, and you will have a new WhatsApp beta version to test on your phone. If the WhatsApp camera is fixed in the beta version, you won’t face the zoomed-in problem afterward.

Fix 3. Force Stop WhatsApp

It is possible that when using the camera in WhatsApp, it was accidentally zoomed in and caught in a state of limbo. Force-stopping WhatsApp should fix the issue.

Step 1: Remove WhatsApp from the multitasking menu. Then, open the App drawer and find WhatsApp.

Step 2: Long-tap on WhatsApp and select the info button. Tap on Force stop from the WhatsApp info menu.

Step 3: It will suspend all the WhatsApp activities in the background. Open WhatsApp again and start using the camera as before.

Fix 4. Clear WhatsApp Cache

A corrupt cache can cause the issue. Thankfully, clearing it on WhatsApp is super easy. However, you may have to download all the files again.

Step 1: Open the App drawer and long-press on the WhatsApp icon .

Step 2: Select Storage & cache and clear cache from the following menu.
