- Open Settings and tap on Music > turn off Sound Check toggle. Then, tap on EQ > select Off.
- Go to Music settings and tap on Dolby Atmos > select Off.
- Use your iPhone’s Sounds & Haptics settings to turn off Headphone Safety. Then, try playing something on Apple Music to check.
Basic Fixes:
- Check volume levels on iPhone: If the volume levels are set to low, it might result in an overall low volume when using Apple Music. To ensure this is not the case, open the iPhone’s Control Center and set the volume levels to maximum.
- Close all background apps: Certain apps might hijack your device’s volume control. To prevent this, close all your background apps, including Apple Music. Then, reopen only Apple Music and see if this fixes the issue.
- Check for iOS updates: Steady software updates give you access to the latest device features and keep your device bug-free. So, if your iPhone’s low-volume issue is caused by a software bug or glitch, updating to the latest iOS version should help fix it.
Fix 1: Disable Headphone Safety
The Headphone Safety feature helps keep your device’s volume below a set decibel level to avoid damaging your ears. While it is always recommended to keep this enabled, here’s how to turn it off if the volume of certain audio is exceedingly low in Apple Music.
Step 1 : Open Settings > go to Sounds & Haptics .
Step 2 : Now, go to Headphone Safety > turn off the toggle for Reduce Loud Sounds .

Fix 2: Turn off Equalizer and Sound Check
Equilizer on iPhone helps adapt sound for different environments, and Sound Check helps smoothen audio. However, both settings might inadvertently restrict the audio volume on your iPhone. When this happens, you can turn off Equalizer and Sound Check. Here’s how.
Step 1: Open Settings > tap on Music > ensure the toggle for Sound Check is off.
Step 2: Tap on EQ . From the options, tap on Off .

Fix 3: Disable Dolby Atmos
While Dolby Atmos helps create an immersive sound experience, it is known to throttle sound volume at the cost of increasing the sound quality. This can happen if the currently playing song isn’t available in high quality. To stop this, turn off Dolby Atmos for Apple Music. Here’s how.
Step 1: Open Settings > tap on Music > Dolby Atmos .
Step 2: From the options, select Off . This will turn off Dolby Atmos for Apple Music on your iPhone.

Fix 4: Unpair and Repair Audio Device
If you’re using an audio device to play Apple Music audio, any issues during pairing might result in Apple Music playing music at a low volume. To ensure this is not the case, forget the audio device and pair it again. Then, once the new pairing is established, open Apple Music and check again. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Open Settings > tap on Bluetooth > tap on the relevant device .

Step 2: Tap on Forget This Device > select Forget Device to confirm.

Now, tap on the device you want to pair from this list. Once paired, open Apple Music and try playing a song. You can check our guide if your iPhone can’t find the relevant Bluetooth device .
