- Tap and hold the post, select the text content, and tap on the Translate option in the menu.
- You can also copy the text content from the post, and then paste it on Google Translate.
- Ensure there’s no problem with the network connectivity on your device and clear the cache from the app.
Basic Fixes
- Check network connection: If there’s a problem with your Wi-Fi or cellular connection, X may not be able to translate the post.
- Language may not be supported: If X’s translation service doesn’t support the language, you won’t be able to use the feature.
- Restart X: Close the app and open it again to see if it fixes the issue.
- Check if X is down: If X is facing downtime , wait for the services to be restored.
- Update X: Update the app on your iPhone or Android device for a bug-free experience.
Fix 1: Select and Translate Text
If the translate option isn’t working – tap and hold the post, select all the text, and tap on Translate . This will translate the selected text in the post to your desired language.
Fix 2: Copy and Paste to Google Translate
Alternatively, you can also tap and hold the post, select all content, and copy & paste it to Google Translate .

Fix 3: Clear Cache
Accumulated cache and junk files can cause problems in an application. Clearing it from X can help you resolve the issues with translating posts.
On Android
Tap and hold the X app icon > select app info > tap on Clear data > Clear cache .

On iPhone
Offloading an application on your iPhone removes temporary data, including cache and junk files. However, it maintains all the other essential data, such as your sign-in information, in-app purchases, etc.
Step 1: On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > tap on iPhone Storage .
Step 2: Scroll down, select the X app, and tap on Offload App . Tap on the Offload App once again to confirm.
Step 3: Now, tap on Reinstall App .
