• If your Fire TV Stick has insufficient space, you can’t install new apps. Uninstall excess apps and try again.
  • If your payment information on file is not up-to-date, you can’t purchase and download paid apps.
  • Certain Fire TV Stick settings might prevent you from getting new apps. If you can’t identify them, reset your device and try again.

Basic Fixes:

  • Check your internet connection: When your Fire TV Stick is not installing an app, you should first ensure your internet connection is stable and has good speeds to support the app download. If your Fire TV Stick is not connecting to Wi-Fi , move closer to the router, reconnect, and try again.
  • Restart Fire TV Stick: You can restart your Fire TV Stick using the settings menu. This will refresh all device services. Then, try downloading the app again.
  • Disable VPN: While VPN can help you access apps and features that might not otherwise be available, it can also restrict the ones unavailable in the region your device is currently set to via VPN. In this case, disconnect the VPN on your Fire TV Stick and try again.
  • Check device storage: If your Fire TV Stick is running low on storage, it can’t install new apps. So, check and clear the storage on your Fire TV Stick before trying again.
  • Check for software updates: Software glitches or bugs can cause your Fire TV Stick to error out when performing certain functions, like installing new apps. In this case, check and install the latest software updates for your Fire TV Stick device.
