- Open Settings > Video and Audio > Audio Output > choose the relevant output.
- Open Settings > Video and Audio > Audio Format > Change Format.
- Open Settings > System > Reset.
Basic Fixes
- Unmute using remote: The Apple TV remote has a dedicated mute button. If you or your little one has accidentally put the TV on mute mode, the audio won’t work.
- Check your cable connection: You should also check your cable connection if you have a home theatre setup. Check the HDMI cable you used to connect the home theater to the TV.
- Check the input mode on your home theater: Your home theater system has several input modes, such as Bluetooth, HDMI, and optical.
- Check HDMI connection: Open Settings > Video and Audio > check HDMI Connection. It takes a couple of minutes to check the HDMI connection on your Apple TV.
Fix 1: Check Sound Output
If you have incorrect sound output on your Apple TV, the audio won’t work from your main speaker setup. You need to change the audio output from Apple TV Settings.
Step 1: Open Settings on your Apple TV.
Step 2: Select Video and Audio and select Audio Output .
Step 3: Set a relevant output for audio.

Fix 2: Change the Audio Format
You can change the audio format on your Apple TV to make it compatible with all types of content on different streaming services. To do so, go to Settings and make a tweak.
Step 1: Open Settings > Audio and Video .
Step 2: Open the Audio Format and select Change Format .
Step 3: Click Change Format from the following menu.
You can restart your Apple TV and try again.
Fix 3: Reset Your Apple TV
This will remove all installed apps and preferences from your Apple TV. All the settings will be restored to default and you must set it up from scratch.
Open Settings > System > Reset .
