- To quickly add double underlines, highlight the text > Format > Borders & shading > Borders > Bottom border > select a double-line style.

Step 1: Open Google Docs in your preferred browser and open the document you want to edit.
Step 2: Place your cursor on the Google Docs canvas in a location where you would like to insert the double underlines.

Step 4: Type the following: \underline in the equation box.
