- You can add the birthday details for a contact in Google Contacts. Then, go to Google Calendar > Settings > Birthdays and enable the toggle for the contacts account.
- You can also open the contact card on your Android device, click on the three dots icon at the top, and select birthday notification.
- If you don’t want to add birthdays to a contact card, you can create a recurring calendar event for the birthday.
Method 1: Import Birthdays From Google Contacts
On Android
Step 1 : Open the Google Contacts app on your Android phone. If it isn’t already installed, download and install it from the Play Store .
Step 2: Tap on the contact whose birthday you want to add. Tap the Pencil (Edit) icon at the top.
Step 3: Scroll down and tap on the Significant date box. Enter the birth date > tap on Set > select Birthday under the label.
Now, repeat the steps to add the birthdays of other contacts.

Step 4 : Tap on the three-bar icon at the upper-left corner > enable Birthdays > go to Settings . Scroll down and tap on Birthdays .
Step 5: Enable the account from which you want to show birthdays in Google Calendar.

That’s it. Now, birthdays from Google Contacts will appear on your calendar.
On Desktop
Step 1 : Open the Google Contacts website and sign in. Click on the contact to which you want to add the birthday > Edit .

Step 2: Click on the Birthday text box > enter the birthday > click on Save .

Step 3: Go back to the homepage > check the box for Contact s under the My Calendars section. If Contacts doesn’t show up, look for Birthdays and enable it.

Step 4: If neither Birthdays nor Contacts show up, click on the + icon next to Other calendars.

Step 4: Select Browse calendars of interest .

Step 5: Check the box for Your contacts under Birthdays to show birthdays in Google Calendar.

Method 2: Add Birthdays to Google Calendar Without Contacts
Another method that lets you add birthdays to Google Calendar of friends and family without contact is by creating a recurring event. Basically, you must manually add birthdays to Google Calendar, as shown below.
On Android
Step 1: Open Google Calendar > tap on the + button at the bottom > select Event .
Step 2: Title your birthday event. For instance, Elyan’s birthday. Also, enable the toggle for All-day .
Step 3: Tap on Does not repeat > select Every year . This creates a recurring event.
Step 4 : To be reminded about your birthday in Google Calendar, tap on Add notification .

On PC
Step 1 : Open the Google Calendar website on your computer and log in to your account.
Step 2: Click on Create at the upper-left corner > select Event .

Step 3: Add a title for your birthday event. Click on the date and time field and check the box for All day .

Step 4: Also, click on Doesn’t repeat > select Custom .

Step 5: Click on the drop-down box for Repeat and select 1 and Year, respectively. Ensure it says Repeat every 1 Year.
Step 6: Also, select Never under Ends and click on Done .

Step 7: Click on the More options button.

Step 8: Here, add a notification if you want to be reminded about the birthday event every year. Finally, click on Save .
